This weekend sees the maritime event " All Aboard " in Liverpool. eight tall ships are in Wellington dock and open to the public. Luckily the afternoon did not degenerate into a rain soaked scene as had been promised by the local weather forcasters.
They looked very impressive around the doak but it is very difficult to get a good picture of them as the background is very busy with people, dockside buildings and things that generally get in the way.
The ship in front is the Asgard II, a magnificant brigantine from Dublin, one of the smaller ships. In the background is the Kaskelot, one of the largest remaining wooden built ships still sailing.
Lack of good photographs apart, it was a good afternoon, and a good precursor to the tall ships race from Liverpool next year. A hundred plus sailing ships in the river Mersey should be an impressive sight.
