Fruit Bats

Last Tuesday was spned wandering around the Cotswold Wildlife Park in Burford. An interesting place with Fruit Bats in the Bat House and White Rhinos on the lawn.

Sounds like an odd combination but they make great pix.
Les Auld: They do indeed Jaquelyn, thanks for the comment.
What a beautiful shot of the bat & her baby!!! Did you know that first time Mamas will often be helped by "nurse Mama's" who've done it before? The nurse Mama's help "catch", since the Mama has to hang right side up to deliver, then she has to be quick to flip upside down to use her strong winged arms to cradle, then nurse! Extraordinary!
Les Auld: You learn something new every day Elizabeth, thanks for the information.

It's the kind of place where you have to pinch yourself, Les, I'm sure. Is it really possible?!
Les Auld: Not too much though Ginnie, thanks for the comment.
The bat and her baby is most wonderful, Les, a real winner.
