photoblog image A Walk on the Walls

A Walk on the Walls

The Walls of Harlech Castle are quite accessible, that is if you like climbing several stories up a narrow spiral staircase in bad light. Once up there though you can walk all around the castle. It was a fine sunny afternoon but you could see in the distance the storm clouds forming  over the Llyn Peninsula and teh rain beginning to fall.

I went here when I was about 8 and out of all the Welsh castles we visited, this seemed to be the most forbidding. Amazing amount of detail contrasted with the soft grey background. This just says Wales to me!
