The P-51D Mustang was designed in America by North American Aviation to meet British requirements for a fast fighter in 1940.
This aeroplane is own and flown by the Scandanaviation Historic Flight and carries the markings of one of the 8th Airforce acees Clolonel Clarence "Bud" Anderson of the 357th Fighter Group.
It put up a grand show at the Southport Airshow last weekend, altghough the weather was a bit dull for decent photography during it's display.
