photoblog image The Puma

The Puma

The Wildlife Herritage Foundation in Kent is dedicated to helping save big cats around the world and they have a site that is opened to visitors on certain days. They also hold photography days when a small group of photographers can get closer to the cats than would normally be available to members of the public. The small staff and the group volounteers do a splendid job in ensuring all is well on the site..

This fine animal is one of the Pumas caught leaping off a group of rocks in his enclosure.

"Leaping" and "enclosure" are the operative words here, Les. I love that you included BOTH. What a wonderful experience for you photographers, I'm sure.
Les Auld: It was a really god days photography Ginnie, I have so many images to process. Thanks for the comment.

A fantastic shot, you've captured the focus, and the muscles rippling, and the lovely color of the animal so incredibly well! Are there Puma's in Kent? I thought it was a North American species.
Les Auld: It is a North American puma, she is in a wildlife centre where they are working to protect the big cats. Thanks for the comment.
