One Year Later

Last year at the West Somerset Railway Spring Steam Gala ex British Rail locomotive No. 70000, Brittania, made its debut after many years of overhaul in an unlined black livery without her nameplates.

This year she was back resplendant in lined green with red backed number plates, the livery she carried for her operating life. Seen here leaving Minehead in the late afternoon at the ehad of a rake of BR Maroon coaches she makes a grand sight traveling towards the far end of the line at Bishops Lydeard.

Les Auld: They also worked the North West out of Crewe, great engines Chris, thanks for the comment.

I saw her at the WSR last July when she was still black. Not sure about the white roof, I have read about it in the magazines.
