The Glad Tidings Fleet

If you fancy a trip out to the Farne Islands then the odds are you will travle on one of Billy Shiel's boats, athough other operators are available. Three of his boats are moored alongside the Inner Farne waiting for the day trippers to return.

Brillant Boat Friday Les! I like the color, composition, and slight reflections in the water.
Les Auld: Thanks Frances, appreciate the comment.

And don't they look smart & inviting little craft too!
Les Auld: And fun to ride in Chris, thanks for the comment.
I wish i was a better sailor. I chickened out of a boat trip to the Farne islands some years ago although our Kathryn went!
Les Auld: It can get quite vigorous as you go out to the islands Bill, all part of the enjoyment. Thanks for the comment.

Three for the price of one Les, I remember seeing these when I was in Northumberland.
Les Auld: I think that he has some six boats Brian, thanks for the comment.
Nice capture Les, really like the perspective, the reflections and sense of open space in this!
Les Auld: Plenty of open space in the north Sea Fred, thanks for the comment.

Now funnily enough, only last Thursday did I travel on "Glad Tidings IV" to the Farne islands smile I saw hundreds of seals and their pups and a few NT rangers as well. The sea looked fairly smooth from the land but was anything but when out on the boat; far better than any rollercoaster ride smile
Les Auld: I suspect not so many birds though Alan, it is a great trip though and the ride through the seas just makes it better. Thanks for the comment.

... I always think that the boat names are quite appropriate on the run-up to Christmas (i.e. after around 20th December... NOT BEFORE!!!)
Les Auld: Could be Alan, thanks for the comment.
