Slain in battle, the Viking lord Olaf is carried by his Norsemen from the battlefield towards his funeral pyre high on a mound overlooking the battlefield.
He is preceeded by his wife, ordained by tradition to be cast on the pyre to go with her husband to Valhalla to serve him in the afterlife.
At the top of the mound is his longboat upon which he and his wife are placed and then fire is set to the pyre whilst the warriors around it celebrate his bravery.
The tale as it was presented at Tutbury Castle on the 5th November during the Vikings and Fireworks Weekend.
