Stormy Weather

Last weekend was the showing on the concourse of the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool of As the World Tipped by the Wired Aerial Theatre Production Company.

The secretariat of the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference are working away when the world starts to tip and chaos ensues. The stage went from horizonatl to vertical and the cast spent most of their time suspended against the screen that was formed by the stage whilst scenes of change and destruction were projected against it.

Whether you agree with climate change or not, this presentation was a dramatic and fascinating show.

More detail may be found about the show and the company may be found here and there are more images on my Flickr site.

the video below is a shortened version of the show.

Stunning visual effects, Les. Oh my. I bet the entire presentation was powerful. I love the image you chose for today!
Les Auld: It was indeed Ginnie, we seem to have had some great free shows in Liverpool this year, interesting to see what comes up next. Thanks for the comment.
Very clever idea and I would think the whole thing was quite a sight. It might have been a good idea to do this to the US congress and house of representatives, they might have come to an agreement over the budget
Les Auld: I doubt if they would have listened Bill, but it was a grand night to be by the cathedral. Thanks for the comment.
seems like an interesting presentation
Les Auld: It was Ayush, thanks for the comment.

That must have been some show!! Great photo!
Les Auld: It was Marion but very difficult to photograph, thanks for the comment.
looks like a good show Les, do you know when the Tall Ships are in Liverpool.
Les Auld: It was a grand show Mick, there is another bout of the On the Waterfront festival from the 8-15 September which promises a new look River Festival with Tall Ships, Cunards at each end and loads of other displays. http://www.liverpoolonthewaterfront.co.uk/8-15-sept/ Should give you some more information. I must admit I'm looking forward to it so it will probably be lousy weather.

We had something similar a year or so ago, although nothing to do with climate change. All quite spectacular, though.
Les Auld: Very spectacular indeed Alan, thanks for the comment.

Great idea and very entertaining, I like you choose the girl in red for your picture smile
Les Auld: Seemed to be the best picture of the evening Linda, thanks for the comment.
Certainly something to make one think Les.
Les Auld: Or not as the case maybe Brian, thanks for the comment.
It must have been quite something to be there Les.
Les Auld: It was an interesting evening Chad, thanks for the comment.
Very cool, I started out thinking 'Titanic' but it was quite mesmerising.
Les Auld: Thanks John, another disaster that is being celebrated this year.
