.. The Liver Building at Liverpool's Pier head was formally opened amongst acclaim and criticism. Over the years the building has become a major icon for Liverpool, one that is recognised around the world.

One hundred years later, in July 2011, the New Museum of Liverpool Life was opened amongst acclaim and criticism, nothing changes. You do wonder what the next 100 years will bring.

To celebrate both events the Macula Spectacular light show was brought to Liverpool by Czech Republic company The Macula. It features 3D projections on the Liver Building and the new Museum of Liverpool. It is impossible to really do justice to the show with still images but a slide show of the show can be found on my Flickr site.

WOW! That´s quite the show, Les. I can imagine how thrilling it must have been to see it. Great images from your slideshow, too. Well done! I especially like it after having seen this famous icon a year ago when we visited Liverpool before flying back to the Netherlands.
Les Auld: It was such a grand show Ginnie, over 30,000 people came to see it over the two days and it was so well received. Thanks for the comment.

Steve only said to me yesterday that he had heard The Liver Building was 100 years old on the radio, I am so pleased you have shown some pictures of it, I will look at your Flickr and show Steve as well smile
Les Auld: My pleasure Linda, it was a grand show indeed.
That must have been spectacular Les.
Les Auld: It was the best light show I have ever seen Brian, thanks for the comment.
