photoblog image The Hawk at Cosford

The Hawk at Cosford

The RAF Cosford Airshow suffered from severve rain on Sunday with less than half the scheduled display aircraft taking part. The BAE Hawk Trainer managed to put on a short display, piloted by this year's diplay pilot Flight Lieutenant Juliette Fleming from 208 Squadron RAF Valley in Anglesey.

The Royal Navy Blacks Cats Display Team also managed a short display in the Lynx Helicopters.

A girly flying a plane? Good heavens.. what has this world come to? smile It's a shame that after months of drought-like conditions, the rain has come to spoil such events as this. There's little in your fine images to give a clue that it was raining so well done for that.
Les Auld: A bit of software help can do wonders Alan, thanks for the comment.

Too bad it rained on their parade, Les, but thankfully a few acts were displayed for your camera's eye! The main photo looks just like a model plane, doesn't it, with all those decals.
Les Auld: It does look a little bit like a model, highly polished but you can't see he wires holding it up though. Thanks for the comment.

That was hard luck for them weather-wise Les but I'll bet the farmers were cheering!
Les Auld: Possibly Chris, Possibly. Thanks for the comment.
Two good shots though Les. I guess the rain will have washed out the GCR war spectacular yesterday, all sorts was arranged including a fly-past but it poured down all day sadly.
Les Auld: iT was rather dire all over Brian, thanks for the comment.
