The Christmas Cooks

As the Winter Watch passed the Christmas Cooks stop to perform in front of the crowd, to a selection of music they danced around the street, elegant but strange. How ever all was not as it seemed, one of the cooks found she had an empty platter and the butler was not amused. The other cooks ran to her aid, surrounding her to prevent the butler getting to her with a cleaver in his hand. Alas the protection of the cooks was of no avail and the Butler had his wicked way with the recalcitrant cook, her head was served up on her platter, empty no more.

Indeed a most unusual piece of entertainment.

The Youtube video below shows some of the Winter Watch Parade, the Cooks Dance is about 1 minute 30 seconds from the start.

Lovely atmospheric shots Les: I love this sort of thing
Les Auld: So do I Louis, thanks for the comment.
Aaaah, shame, poor cook. Rather a bloodthirsty demonstration, but fairly normal perhaps for the 1400s. LOL smile Or even today?
Les Auld: I suspect a few cooks would like to take a cleaver to their staff these days Sheila, thanks for the comment.
What an event, lots of drama in these great images. They came out well with the high iso setting.
Les Auld: Took a bit of work martin but I am reasonable happy with them, thanks for the comment.

Sounds like a cross between Tim Burton and Downton Abbey ;o) Your photos certainly excel at enhancing the mood of pantomine.
Les Auld: A macabre pantomime though Mike, thanks for the comment.
Excellent stuff Les, could Tim Burton do any better smile
Les Auld: With his money probably so but I do wonder if it would be as entertaining. Thanks for the comment John.
Wonderful pictures Les..and great processing.
Les Auld: Thanks Ron smile
Wonderfully weird Les!
Les Auld: And perhaps so British Bill, thanks for the comment.
This is fantastic stuff Les, great video.
Les Auld: And so enjoyable to watch Chad, thanks for the comment.
Two great images Les, the dance on the video is quite gruesome.
