photoblog image The MPI Resolution

The MPI Resolution

Although the Cruise Ship season has finished the Cruise Liner Facility in Liverpool is still in use. The Windfarm Insatllation and Maintenance vessel MPI Resolution is loading parts for servicing the Burbo Bank windfarm. Operated by VOS (Vroon Offshore Services) and it's subsidiary, MPI Offshore Ltd, based in Stokesley, UK, who specialise in offshore wind turbine installation and maintenance.

The MPI Resolution is the world's first purpose-built vessel for installing offshore wind turbines and employs significant advanced marine technology and management systems from Rolls-Royce.

Also in Liverpool is another VOS vessel, the VOS Satifaction, moored in Huskisson Dock, an off shore support vessel.

Very good pictures as always. Interesting to think that you need a ship if you are going to farm wind at sea.
Les Auld: It does take a lot of effort to plough the sea to plant the farm Louis, thanks for the comment.

A really specialist vessel Les
Les Auld: It is indeed Chris, but sad to think it has to be operated by a foreign country, we should be capable of this work in Britain.
Strange looking ship Les, you do get some interesting ones in up there.
Les Auld: Not so many, I would wish there were more, thanks for the comment.
Great images, Les. So much detail to examin, and that red is so attractive against the grey. (:o)
Les Auld: It is a good contrast Rosalyn, thanks for the comment.
Now that's an interesting looking vessel.
Les Auld: Strictly functional Ellie, thanks for the comment.
