The classic line-up at Buckley Wells shed on the East Lancashire Railway last Sunday. BR Standard Pacific 71000, Duke of Gloucester, ex LMS Jubilee Class 5690, Leander, and A1 new build 60163, Tornado, star in the early evening line up. Presenting 75 years of prime steam locomotive build, with Leander being first steaming in 1936, the Duke in 1954 and Tornado in 2008, and all still giving a fine service on both Heritage lines and Mainline services.
Later in the evening 5690 was replaced by the BR Standard 5 73129 so providing a fine view of the only two Caproti valve gear engines still running.
