The Oratory at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral houses one of this years art installations for the Liverpool Biennial Celebrations.

 

The Temple of 1000 Bells is a set of glass bells that hang from the centre of the roof of the Oratory and ahas been designed by the artist Laura Belém.

The 6th Biennial in Liverpool is from the 18th September 2010 to the 28th November 2010 and has many events and installations spread around the city.

What I was wondering - are they an alternative to the normal style of wind chimes. That could be special.

What a very attractive piece of art Les, and those statues are quite mmagnificent also.

It's nice isn't it, I'd like to think the bells make a gentle sound with even the slightest bit of air movement. They add quite a sparkle to quite a stern building.
