An american green beret to look after the british fighter planes. Generous of the cousins.

Oh, to have the money to indulge in these flights of fancy. Even the hair style of the chap on the left.
Les Auld: Very generous, or is perhaps the British are just not glamorous enough for today's re-enactors. Thanks for the comment Louis.

There's little here to say this isn't a genuine wartime picture Les circa 1944
Les Auld: Thanks Chris, I did try to keep everything modern out of shot by some judicious cropping, thankfully you can't read the banners on the scaffolding.
Great stuff Les. What a line up of aircraft!!
Les Auld: And all in working order Bill, thanks for the comment.

Les this is a wonderful photo look so much like it was take in ww2
Les Auld: Thanks Vintage, appreciate the comment.
IMHO this is one of the very best of your shots on SC of late, there is nothing to say this wasn't in the 1940's at all.
Les Auld: Thanks Brian, I did try to keep everything modern out of shot by some judicious cropping, thankfully you can't read the banners on the scaffolding.
surprised you went with colour here Les, b&w with some noise etc would make it look like you had shot it all those years ago, still a great post thoughsmile
Les Auld: I did some in colour and some in B&W Tim, thanks for the comment.
It's good to know that there are so many of these old timers still in working order (I mean the planes, not the pilots)
Les Auld: And probably some of the pilots as well Ian, thanks for the comment.
