The Stuff of Legend
Flying Legends Airshow at the IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
A grand weekend indeed, two days of glorious weather, over fifty flying machines, the greatest piston engine flying display in the world (perhaps I am biased) good company and tens of thousands of other people to compete with for the best spot. It all added up to the annual Flying Legends Airshow at the Imperial War Museums base at Duxford. It is not everywher you can see nine Spitfires, five Mustangs and thirty warbirds in Balbo formation at the same time.
Spitfire PR XIX, PS890, finished as a MkVIII of 152 Squadron, South East Asia Command, World War II, is on final approach to land at Duxford's grass runway last Sunday.
