Some Great Westerns

Last Sunday the Birmingham Railway Museum held an Open Day at their Tysley works. With blue skies, sun and steam it was a good afternoon out. There was plenty of Locomotive movements to enjoy and demonstration runs on the short running line alongside the works.

The Great Western Railway locomotives were all turned out immaculately with gleaming paint work and polished brass fittings. Here is Castle Class No. 5043, Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, Hall Class No.4953, Pitchford Hall and 57xx Pannier Class No. 9600 line up around the turntable in the afternoon sun.

I must go to one of these, are these events very busy? The shots give the impression of the private visit. Super series.
Les Auld: A public event and quite busy so patience and a good pair of elbows help. Thanks for the comment.
