A Hearty Bit of Dying...

... On a fine Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend saw the annual Medieval Fayre and battle at Tatton Old Hall in Cheshire. Dressed as authentically as possible in full plate armour or hauberk and chain mail, over one hundred knights, spearmen, bowmen and their ladies formed up to give battle in the afternoon. They put their heart into it and rushed about the field for an hour or so in the heat of the sun, I was quite exhausted just photographing them.

fantastic
Les Auld: Thanks Toni, appreciate the comment.
I watched something similar at Warwick Castle a couple of years ago, it was fun to watch. You have really captured the action in this one. smile
Les Auld: The Plantagenet group put events on all around the country Linda, so they could have been at Warwick. Thanks for the comment.
Great action from the weekend warriors. These events are always great, the participants take it all very seriously. Nice shot of the melee.
Les Auld: They really do go at it hammer and tongs John, thanks for the comment.

"on a fine Sunday afternoon" -oh, let's hope that the behaviours tomorrow are less wild and more civilized! Yes, it is a play, a game, a match, no battle, please!
Les Auld: I think it was relatively quiet Philine, thanks for the comment.

Love the action you have captured Les
Les Auld: There was plenty of it Zed, thanks for the comment.
It all looks quite dangerous Les.
Les Auld: I suspect there were a few bruises Brian, and quite a bit of dehydration as well. Thanks for the comment.
