The Flying Dutchman

A welcome visitor to the skies above RAF Cosford was the F16 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16 Demonstration Team. Flown by Captain Tobias "Hitec" Schutte of 323 Squadron the distinctively marked F-16 gave a fine display against the dark storm laden sky.

Makes me proud, Les. grin That is one sweeeeet machine and you have captured it brilliantly. Every day on my bike ride to school I pass a parked car with "The Flying Dutchman" on the back window. I smile every time. smile
Les Auld: It really did put on a great display Ginnie, and Wagner's The Flying Dutchman is one of my top ten classics. Thanks for the comemnt.

Striking shot. I will be going to Fairford for the first time this year, looking forward to getting a crick in my neckwink
Les Auld: Enjoy RIAT Nigel, it is a great show, I was last there twenty years ago. Thanks for the comment.
Another excellent capture of a fast moving machine, well done. I must visit an air show, went to Farnborough years ago and still remember the excitement of the acrobatic jet fighters.
Les Auld: They do put a great display on John, I have only just started to take airshow shots more than once a year but Cosford ahs recharged me.

I'm in awe of the guys who fly these; I'd love to get a chance - well, to fly anything really! Great capture, Les.
