photoblog image The Autotrain

The Autotrain

Meandering through the Dee Valley towards Carrog station on the Llangollen Railway, ex GWR Pannier tank 6430 is sandwiched between two auto coaches. The train is actually driven from the leading coach. These trains were used on branch lines around the Great Western Region during steam days.

Further pictures from the Gala may be seen on my
Flickr site here.

Les Auld: Push - Pull working was a GWR specialism I believe Ron, I remember see them running out of Gobown in Wales. Thanks for the comment.
A fine shot Les and what a great set on your Flickr once again. I see they are having problems getting the planned extension to Corwen agreed at the moment.
Les Auld: There do seem to be many difficulties to surmount Brian, thanks for the comment.
