Leyland Tiger at Bishop's Lydeard

As well as trains there was a vintage bus on the West Somerset Gala. This is an ex Crossville Motors Leyland Tiger being used to transport visitors from the car par to the station. Built in 1950 it is now part of the Quantock Motors Heritage Fleet.

This is what a bus should look like!

I was there yesterday Les but unfortunately didn't see this wonderful machine
Les Auld: I think they only bring them out for the Gala days Chris, there was also a double-decker there on the Saturday I was there. Thanks for the comment.

Llandudno is the entry point to a nude beach in SA smile I bet there are some tigers prowling ...

The bus looks so original - maybe it is as Bill says smile Great picture.
Les Auld: I hesitate to think just what the staid residents of Llandudno would make of your beach Louis, it is an original bus and very well restored. Thanks for the comment.

It's wonderful that these old vehicles have been preserved and are still being put to use.

Now I followed this from the outskirts of Taunton to Bishop's Lydeard. It was going quite well, too. I'm not sure I wantt otravel from Llandudno in it, though wink Happy memories of when we used to have proper bus services.
Les Auld: I did the trip from Liverpool to Conway on one of these when I was much younger Alan but don't remember too much about it. Thanks for the comment.
Superb picture quality and equally good composition.. Cracking shot smile
Les Auld: All helped by the bus being parked in the right place Dave, thanks for the comment.
A fine image and twiddle Les, will give you a ring about 12 on Saturday to see where you are.
Les Auld: Thanks Mick, If I don't answer I'll be driving. I plan to stop in Warwick for an hour or so and then go onto Stratford for 1.
They don't make 'em like that anymore, more's the pity
Les Auld: I doubt they would meet modern requirements Pamela, sometimes I think we are too fussy these days. Thanks for the comment.
