The Last Train to Bridgenorth...

...... and I'm waiting at the Station

Bewdley on a fine Sunday evening, Stanier Mogul 42968 arrives with the last train of the Spring Steam Gala. The event was part of the Great Western Railway 175 celebrations and many of the trains carried the headboards from famous trains of the past, the Cornishmann was just one of these, although perhaps a touch out of place in rural Shropshire.

A fine shot Les: nice to have a bit of sun. Sometimes we would get one of these Stanier moguls at Bristol Barrow Road shed - but only rarely
Les Auld: One class I don't have too many memories of Chris, but it makes a fine sight these days. Thanks for the comment.
Fine shot Les...it was good to see a bit of sun for a change!
Les Auld: It was Bill, but the light did turn out to be quite harsh throughout the day, thanks for the comment.

A lovely timeless appeal to this, Les. I've never had the pleasure of seeing much in real life of the SVR but looks like that's my loss (shame its GWR, though! smile) I assume that the Cornishman ran out of Paddington to the West Country.
Les Auld: It did Alan, and the SVR is a prime example of a well run Heritage railway, well worth the visit. thanks for the comment.
a really terrific capture. i like seeing the footbridge over the tracks and the brick platform. certainly feels timeless and makes me want to take a train ride grin
Les Auld: Bewdley does seem to have stepped back in time Charles, thanks for the comment.
A good atmosphere shoe Les, I like the inclusion of the signals on the left.
