A Ride in the Sky

The 1st January 2010, the start of a new year, a new decade even. The sky is clear and crisp so what to do? Check the trains, I can take a ride into Liverpool, check the ferries, not running today so no ride on the river. So up into the sky on the Liverpool One Wheel. Three rotations and fifteen minutes for a fiver, concessionary fare - must put my travel pass to good use. So when the wheel starts it jams, the attendant tells me to move over and then gives the cabin I'm in a savage heave, so unjamming it and off we go swinging in the wind. Not too sure I would go on it again though, still it was an experience,

You do get a different view of the city but taking pictures is a touch difficult as there are dirty perspex cabin windows in the way, but you give it a go. There are several more of the city from on high on my Flickr site.

Last year I took 6531 pictures, according to my computer that is, so I thought I would try to take at least one picture every day this year, probably last a few days only time will tell, still it will give me plenty to post I suppose.

Dont like the method of unjamming Les, the thought of being stuck doesn't bear thinking about
Les Auld: It was a touch un-nerving Zed, thanks for the comment.
Absolutely no way you would get me on that Les, but thanks for being so brave and coming up with a good set of images.
Les Auld: It wasn't too bad Brian, thanks for the comment.
Fantastic perspective Les. I wouldn't want to ride on it though - no head for heights!
Les Auld: Some do, some don't Pamela, thanks for the comment.
Hats off to you Les...Well done.
