A Dead Tow

The RFA Dilligence was towed from Cammell Lairds shipyard to the dry dock at the end of West Float in Birkenhead. the tugs Smit Donau and Smit Waterloo handled the ship with great care. They are seen here appraoching the dry dock and the RFA Orangeleaf is in the background completing it's refit.

Loads of interest in this, Les. I have a friend who was a Captian with the RFA and occasionally when in his home port he'd invite us on for the evening. Fascinating stuff.
Les Auld: Fascinating indeed Alan, there are several RFAs here at the moment and their movements always attract plenty of photographers. Thanks for the comment.
Good to see boats at work Les, I like the water texture in the foreground.
Les Auld: There was a lot of spray about as she turned Brian, thanks for the comment.
