A Sound to Spur Them On


At the last corner of the 5K course a couple of hundred yards from the finish line, the Batala Banda De Percussao Drums were stationed to spur the runners on to the finish. They must have been drumming for over an hour continuously. One of the early finishers acknowledges them as he turns the corner and powers down the finishing straight.

This picture was printed in the Liverpool Echo last Tuesday.

Some of the other runners at the finishing line may be seen below.

Did (s)he do a cartwheel then? Just look at the enjoyment on the one hour drummers' faces. What fun.

Good idea to have the band at the finish line, nothing like some music to get you going and well done on your picture being printed.

reminds me of a time last year, we went into a bar and santa spilt our beers, he went to the bar to repalce them but did not come back, als the whole place was filled like here with santas, oh well.good image
