Cottages complete with Sheep

There is a row of old quarry men's cottages high above Llyn Cwmorthin, long abandoned and left to the elements, the only living things around are sheep and wet photographers.

Les Auld: Especially with the low cloud and the mist Chris, thanks for the comment.

Looks to isolated for me Les,how far is the nearest pub? Nice little slate bridge and the construction of the cottages looks amazing, grand capture.
Les Auld: Couple of miles downhill Graham, but I wouldn't like to walk back in the dark. i suspect the quarrymen were much hardier than me though. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for getting wet it a great photo that you share with us
Les Auld: After a while you just did not notice the wet, just the need to keep the camera as dry as possible, thanks for the comment Vintage.

fantastic image Les, they would have had a hard life
Les Auld: Yes indeed they would Zed, twelve hour days underground, 30 minutes lunch, bleak weather. Not my idea of fun at all.
Good one Les. Is this Snowdonia? After my Lake District sorties, perhaps I should pay Wales a visit.
Absolutely wonderful Les!
Les Auld: Thanks Richard, a place to go back to one day.

Very dramatic landscape. Lovely smile
Les Auld: Thanks Savo, there were pictures everywhere you looked around here
LOL.. a bet the sheep are less worried about the rain than wet photographers are. smile I bet life in the cottage was grim.
Les Auld: After a while you just stopped noticing the wet Alan, thanks for the comment.
Excellent image Les..Well done.
Les Auld: Thanks Ron, A place I will go back to as well.
I think these are some of the most famous cottages among the British photographic fraternity aren't they Les. Your take is certainly very creditable.
Les Auld: Thanks Brian, I have seen quite a few pictures of them.

They were tremendously harsh living conditions, something few would tolerate these days.
Les Auld: Couldn't agree more Ellie, thanks for the comment.
