photoblog image The Rebel Attack

The Rebel Attack

A fine sunny Saturday afternoon, wide open fields and several hundred re-enactors knocking seven bells out of each other. What could be a better way of spending time.

The American Civil war Society was performing a battle re-enactment at Tatton Park in Cheshire over the weekend and the weather could not have been better.

Here the Confederate Army is seen in the opening phase of the battle charging the Union Infantry. To try for a bit of an aged result some texturing has been applied.

Great Love the way you have processed this
Les Auld: Thanks Vintage, with these images you just cannot help a touch of ageing.
A great capture Les. If it hadn't been for the colour..I would have thought it a genuine shot of those days. It sure does give that effect though.
Les Auld: Thanks Ron, that is the effect I was aiming for.

Very effective, Les.. I would never had guessed that this was a very recent image; very skilfully edited.
Les Auld: Thanks Alan, I did think the touch of colour gave it away but it seemed to work.
Great treatment Les. Often wondered why people would want to do this, especially being on the losing sidetongue
Les Auld: The attraction of a uniform perhaps Bill, thanks for the comment.
The texturing worked well Les.
Les Auld: Thanks Brian smile
