Another cracker Les,do not normally like B&W, but your last 2 postings has changed that. Congrats.on an atmospheric shot!!!
Les Auld: Sometimes I think that steam just have to be in monochrome Graham, thanks for the comment.
Sherwood Forrester was originally a Royal Scot class engine, and only 4 black fives originally had names I think. i wonder how this one got the name? Love the picture Les
Les Auld: True Bill although in their heritage lives several Black Fives were named, some of them using names from the Royal Scots, names worth perpetuating though. Thanks for the comment.

The is fantatstic, Les.. it really epitomises the great days of steam. You're created a superb atmoshere.
Les Auld: Thanks Alan, all down to the volounteers on the ELR.
A chap wrote to a railway magazine a while back and said it wasn't a good photo unless the motion was at the top of its travel Les, it isn't on the 5F and is no worse for that. What a silly man! A very good picture.
Les Auld: There has been great debate Brian about whether a good photgrpah has the rods up or the rods down and there are very strong camps for both. I do wonder if they don't have anything better to worry about.

Thansk for the comment, appreciate it.
