photoblog image The Last Post

The Last Post

The Last Post always gets to me and this was no exception. The bandmaster plays at the Merchant Navy Day service at the Pier Head whilst the standards are lowered in the background.

A slideshow of other images from the service may be found on my
Flickr site.

There is something about those very sad notes that always gets me too. I like this very much - especially the way you have focused on the trumpeter while the two blurred figures in the background look respectfully down.

I know what you mean Les. I have laid a wreath on a couple of occasions when I was President of our Lions Club and it is an intensely moving and humbling experience.
