photoblog image THV Patricia

THV Patricia

This was taken two minutes later than yesterday's post but from the stern of the vessel. The indigo sky and the bright moon makes the shot completely different.
The smaller boats in the foreground are the Liverpool Pilot Boats moored at the pilot's office.

What a delightful time of the day, Les. It feels like a festivity waiting to happen.
Les Auld: It is indeed Ginnie, and one of the best times for taking photographs. Thanks for the comment.

Living so close to Portsmouth docks both naval and commercial,i just hope that when i retire in December and have invested in a decent digital SLR outfit my captures will be at least 25% as good as your excellent camera work. You have been a great inspiration and i would like to thank you for sharing for your top notch efforts.
Les Auld: I hope you have a happy retirement Graham, and December is not too far away. I look forward to seeing your posts then and thanks for the compliments.
This reminds me of catching the late night ferry over to the Isle of Man many years ago Les.
Les Auld: Brings back memories then, thanks for the comment Brian.
A beautiful clarity to this, Les. I do like the feeling of calmness to it.
Les Auld: Thanks Alan, it was quite a quiet evening on the river, not much happening at all.

I have experimented with sky in pictures after finding that the different directions alone provide different skies - in the sense of colour intensity. Let alone the other variants, like time etc.

Quite a difference from the previous picture here as well.
Les Auld: It is amazing the differences that an be found by looking in different direction Louis, thanks for the comment.
Nice shot again Les...I did wonder where the pilot boats moored.
Les Auld: They also have an outpost on Anglesey Ron, thanks for the comment.
