And this weeks visitor is...

....... Trinity House Vessel Patricia, seen here moored at the Liverpool Cruise Liner Fcility and backlit by the afterglow of the setting sun.

Trinity House is responsible for all buoys, lighthouses, channel markers and other navigation aids around the United Kingdom and the Patricia's role is to service these devices and so keep the sea lanes safe. As a secondary role she is also a cruise ship, with room for twelve passengers. The ship is a working boat so there is no fixed route and destinations can change at the drop of a hat so passengers get to see at first hand how Trinity House works. It sounds a fascinating holiday and something quite different from a cruise on a floating hotel.

Charming shot, I like very much the light and the sky... greetings!
Les Auld: Thanks Julian, pleased that you like it.
This should be printed and hanging on somebody's wall. Love it. Love the lighting, the sky, just everything about it!
Les Auld: Glad you like it Bill, perhaps I will try a print, should be able to get up to 16x8 with no problems.
Amazing light, tones and detailing. Great shot!
Les Auld: Thanks Dominic, greatly helped by nature's natural light.

This is a stunning image Les: the lighting is superb. This vessel had a predecessor also named Patricia which I remember well in the 1970s
Les Auld: Thanks Chris, all down to the setting sun, there have been some pretty good sunsets over the last few days.
Nice shot Les - great sky and reflections.
Les Auld: Thanks Bernie smile
Just wonderful Les. The lighting is superb!
Les Auld: Thanks Richard, appreciate the comment.
A stunning shot. Les; the ship is almost incidental as the sky and the lighting is wonderful. I remembers seeing "Patricia" in Portsmouth when she accompanied "Britannia" on a review of the fleet for the Queen's Silver Jubilee.
Les Auld: T'was a decent afterglow Alan. Thanks for the comment.
Lovely mid evening atmosphere about this Les, well worth having printed as Bill suggests.
Les Auld: May be a competition entry Brian, for next year the club is accepting Digital images in most competitions. Thanks for the comment.
Superb image Les. The lighting is just right.
Les Auld: Thanks Ron, about thirty minutes after the sunset images of the last few days.
Great twilight shot. My favourite time of day.
Les Auld: And mine Ian, thanks for the comment.
This is the one Les, the colours are just amazing. Subtle shades of mauve with that acidic yellow against the grey in the foreground. One of the best twilight shots I have seen. Also made me smile - brought back memories of when I used to wonder what a "Channel Light Vessel" was when I was a child - thought it was some special ferry for trips to France perhaps.
Les Auld: Ah those innocent childish days Mike, glad you like the picture, given the comments I think I will try it as a print.
