A big Boat on a bigger River

This weekend saw a courtesy visit by the Royal Navy's newest Destroyer, HMS Daring, to Liverpool. Still in it's commissioning down cruise it is the ship's first visit to a commercial port. Seen here moored at the City of Liverpool Cruise Liner terminal, it was open to the public on the Saturday and the Sunday but with queuing times of up to 2 hours I decided to give it a miss this time.

That is one classy Destroyer, Les, in your very apt hands!
Les Auld: In a class of its own Ginnie, thanks for the comment.
Another really crisp shot and an impressive sky. Was there some pp here? They used to build ships like this in Barrow. Not surte if they still do.
Les Auld: I know they are building submarines in Barrow, not sure what else though, thanks for the comment.
Also very nice! The lit boat and dramatic sky looks fantastic.

The boat looks very (pseudo) futuristic.
Les Auld: Not at all like the destroyers we are used to Paul, thanks for the comment.
