photoblog image Field of Hope

Field of Hope

Way back in 1991 One Million Daffodils were planted in Sefton Park in Liverpool by the Marie Curie Foundation for Cancer Research and since then they have spread anew each spring as a sign of hope and encouragement that this disease can be beaten. This is just a small part of the large sit that is increasing year on year.

Sefton Park is Liverpool's premier park, with over 269 acres of green land, trees and lakes, it has been designated as an English Heritage Grade II Landscape.

What a lovely carpet of daffodils Les, isn't it a shame that these lovely flowers only last for such a short time.
Les Auld: Si it is Brian, but as you say they do present a great display, especially in great swathes of them, thanks for the comment.

Les Auld: Glad you both like it Ron, I used to live ten minutes away in Liverpool 8 as a young lad and often played in both Sefton Park and the adjacent Princes Park, happy days, thanks for the comment.
