photoblog image Pembroke Castle

Pembroke Castle

One of the grandest Norman castles in Wales, there has been a fortification in Pembroke since 1093 and over the years the castle was strengthened, built and re-built by royalty and the Earls of Pembroke. It finally fell into disrepair after it was besieged by Oliver Cromwell in the English Civil War.

The view here is across the river Pembroke. The day I was there it was wet and grey so could not get a decent picture of the fortress. So adding textures and making the image a touch distressed cured the problema nd made it a bit more interesting.

Excellent processing.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis smile
Good reason for your processing. Fabulous how the trees are enveloping it all.
Les Auld: It does look like it is growing out of the trees, thanks for the comment Mary.
