Intrepid

Work continues in Canada Dock on the dismantling for scrap of the Falklands War veteran, HMS Intrepid. She is now starting to look that much the worse for wear from when she first arrived.

I read somewhere or other that there was a campaign to keep her, yet they started scrapping before the deadline/decision date.

Sad thing to see
Les Auld: Just one of several that are on-going Ellie, ad none of them seem to be making good. Thanks for the comment.

I'm shocked. I never realised that was happenning to her. I was on her many years ago, and it is indeed sad that such an important ship will be going.

Odd week this for engineering metal, with the Tornado Steam train at Kings cross, and XH558 looking like it'll never fly again, and now this shot too...
Les Auld: Thanks for the comment, great news about Tornado but not to see XH558 fly again but be a great shame. I saw her at the Southport Air show last year and it put on a tremendous flying display.
