The Horse Box

On the road out of Southport is a filed with this old railway wagon body in it. Over the years I have sen it deteriorate so I though I should record it before it finally fell apart. Very conveniently one of the horses that live in the field decided to investigate it whilst I was there.

Intriguing shot. I wonder how often they get decent human attention. The box wagon is declining nicely but sadly the horse looks to be rather thin. richard
Les Auld: There are people around every day Richard, the horse is quite young and has not filled out yet. Thanks for the comment.

I like the way you have caught the other horse in profile, framed by the doorway. These poor creatures look rather neglected, a bit like the railway wagon.
Ingrid
Les Auld: Plenty of feed and company around Ingrid, they seem lively enough in the field. Thanks for the comment.

Great Image Les
Les Auld: Thanks Vintage, appreciate the comment.
I agree with Richard and Ingrid Les, the horses look almost as neglected as the wagon. Very nice shot though, well worth stopping for.
Les Auld: They do seem happy enough Brian, plenty of feed and company, thanks for the comment.

It's a pity that the horse looks almost as neglected as it's shelter, because there's plenty of grass for it to eat.
Les Auld: He has plenty of company Ellie, a little young yet and not filled out. Thanks for the comment.

A bit dirty from mud, but not necessary neglected. That is the horse.
Les Auld: This was not long after the rain Louis but not too neglected. Thanks for the comment.
I really like this, Les. The horses add so much interest and add a quirkyness to the image. Excellent! (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks Rosalyn, glad you like it.
Les - this is simply brilliant! Mike
Les Auld: It did take me several years to take this picture Michael, a long time planning perhaps. Thanks for the comment.
