photoblog image Queen Elizabeth 2

Queen Elizabeth 2

The QE2 moored at the City of Liverpool Cruise Liner facility for the last time, after over 40 years travelling the seas she will become a floating hotel in Dubai.

The area in the foreground is all that remains fo the old Princess Landing Stage, long gone.

Some more images may be found on my Flickr Site.

That is a wonderful lustrous shot: a pity we'll not be able to take another of this craft in UK waters
Les Auld: Thanks Chris, last of a dying breed of transatlantic liners.
So a final memory this might be worth a bob or two in a few years ... the picture I mean and as far as the boat goes ... well.

Les Auld: Thanks for the comment Richard, a shame it is going.

Les Auld: Indeed so Vintage, and one we will not enopy in the future, thanks for the comment.
What a lovely ship Les, shame she is going abroad for ever, and what a reflection on modern times, the Princess Landing Stage didn't look like this last time I saw it in the 70's.
Les Auld: It has changed very much down there Brian, thanks for the comment.

A wonderful photograph, and so poignant in view of her sad demise.
Les Auld: Glad you like it, thanks for the comment.
Great juxta-position Les, seems fitting that you should include two relics of a bygone era.
Les Auld: Thanks Alistair, there was a third old relic behind the camera as well.
