photoblog image The Garston Gasometer

The Garston Gasometer

A subject suggested by Richard Trim

In the village of Garston, under the bridge, a suberb in the south end of Liverpool stands the remains of a gasworks protectedt by modern steel railings. No longer in use it stands forlorn and empty on a fine evening.

Good perspective - that fence seems to run on for ever. I like the POV on the gasometer too - I feel like a small child craning my neck to see it!

Les Auld: It was a choice of two to post and this one won because of the trees, thanks for the comment Ingrid.
Great angle on this Les, and the shape of the frame stands out well behind the fence and shrubs.
Les Auld: Thanks Brian, three elements to one picture all working together, thanks for the comment.
I have a real feeling that must be a huge range of designs for these gas holders Les. Shame that it was probably difficult for you to get avariety of shooting angles with that delightful fence.

... and thanks for the acknowledgement. richard
Les Auld: Probably there are several, a new challenge for me to find some more, Thanks for the comment Richard.

Great picture Les - something about the flame orange branches against the blue sky.
Les Auld: Thanks Mike, I like the simplicity of it. Appreciate the comment.
