photoblog image Loch Buie

Loch Buie

Whilst in Oban I did the Mull, Saffa, Iona trip, and it was well worth it seeing the Puffins and Fingall's Cave on Staffa and the Abbey on Iona. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining the sea was blue and the wildlife friendly.

The Calmac ferry Loch Buie is seen here arriving on Iona after crossing the Sound of Iona from Fionnphort on Mull. There was just time to take the photograph and then head back down to the ferry to travel back to Oban,.

Oban is in Scotland right.Love this photo
Les Auld: Yes it is vintage, on the west coast, also known as the gateway to the isles.
We went to Mull but never made it to Iona Les, I'd often wondered what the ferry is like. Nice shot.
Les Auld: Iona is a fine place to visit Brian, if you ever get up there again you should go. Thanks for the comment.

I've still to do the Inner Hebrides; the more I see of them, the more I want to go. These wonderful ferries provide a vital lifeline - there's a Calmac image from me today.
Les Auld: Feed the need Alan, there are some grand places there, thanks for the comment.

I wouldn't know where all these names are, but for 'Caledonian' that suggests Scotland somewheres. Have to look it up.

It is great to take pictures when the light is good.
Les Auld: And the light was great Louis, it is in the west of Scotland. Thanks for the comment.

This seems to have a very special light - I'd love to go up there and explore.

Les Auld: And so you should Ingrid, it is even good in the rain, but better ajust after it. Thanks for the comment.
