photoblog image Wreck of a car ferry

Wreck of a car ferry

I was down by the banks of the Mersey on Sunday and the old car ferry wreck is still there, slowly decaying. I have been photographing this vessel over a number of years and the decay is becoming more visable. Originaly this was a ship breakers site but the went under and the last of the ships was just left by the quay.

Your technique is just perfect, Les, for this image! I'm mesmerized by it, again!
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, I must admit to enjoying producing these distressed images.
You would think with the price of metal it would be gone by now! Great shot Les
Les Auld: Probably not economic Bill, thanks for the comment.

How sad! I know these things b=nver gone on for ever; I just hope they see me out, though! Well presented, as usual.
Les Auld: Thanks Alan, I suppose everything must come to an end.
This is an amazing image Les. I don't know how you've done this but it puts you in a league far above me!
Les Auld: Thnaks for the compliment Chris.
Super image Les, this techniques of yours never fails. It would be nice to see of collage of this boat as it deteriorates if you have several shots over the years.
Les Auld: Difficult to produce a decent collage Brian, most of the pictures are on film and my scanner has died. Thanks for the comment.

I love the gritty texture overlay, it gives the image a whole other dimension!
Les Auld: Thanks Claas, just the effect I was working towards. Appreciate the comment.
