photoblog image Evening light on the dock

Evening light on the dock

It was great to see the ships lined up in the docks, as you walked along the Strand by Canning Dock the ships glowed in the evening light. Even the new build of One Park West looks good in the background.

Here the British Gaff Ketch Leader is moored alongside the French Schooner Etoile right next to the Strand.

Seen against the docks, the shape of this building starts to make some sense.
Les Auld: Could be right Bill, thanks for the comment.

I think you have a problem, with your verticals, Les.. look at the building on the right! wink I like the lighting in this with the soft warm light of the evening.
Les Auld: Maybe the builders plumb line was out of calibration, there is a little distortion due to the wide angle though. Thanks for the comment Alan.

Sorry, Les, on this occasion I'm truly fascinated with those new buildings...fantastic design! Are they offices or apartments/mix? PS: You've captured that lovely golden glow very well.
Les Auld: Mixed use Smits, and they do grow on you. Thanks for the comment.
great image well composed

lovey light and sky too
Les Auld: Right place, right time, thanks for the comment.
Nice old and new shot Les, I agree with Bill about the shape of the building.
Les Auld: It looks like the architect could have been right this time, thanks for the comment Brian.
That building certainly look like the bow of a ship. Perhaps the architect wasn't barking mad after all? smile
Beautiful shot of the tall ships in the evening light.
Les Auld: Thanks Pat, right place, right time.
I like much this perspective. The building is more like a boat, in the deck! Charmer!
Les Auld: Thanks Jose, it does grow on you.
