photoblog image The Privet Beatles

The Privet Beatles

There are many  Beatle's artifacts around Liverpool, this is a touch of topiary in front of the new Hunts Cross Rail/Road interchange on the outskirts of the city.

You may notice that the head of the drummer, Ringo Starr, is a little undergrown, after he had made a few disparaging remarks at the start of the Capital of Culture year someone took objection and beheaded him and it is now growing back.

No Richard, everyone knows the quiet one was George! Love the idea of the privet Beatles - it could only happen in Liverpool!
Ingrid
Les Auld: Indeed so Ingrid, thanks for the comment.
Ah the Beatles...a popular little Combo from the 60's.
Les Auld: So I believe Bill, thanks for the comment.
I remember seeing this in the daily paper Les, especially the bit about Ringo. Nice idea from someone in Liverpool to do this.
Les Auld: News does get around Brian, thanks for the comment.
The Fab Four immortalised in Privet! Words fail me. Excellent photograph. smile
Les Auld: Thanks Pat, amazing what you can do with privet these days.
Well, in a way it's the worst kind of kitsch, but on the other hand it's very clever and you've got to smile. Poor old Ringo.
Les Auld: It does all work together Ian, thanks for the comment.
