The Kiosk on the front

After I had taken this picture the man behind the counter asked if it was going to appear on Flickr, so I will post there as well. I'm sure I have seen some other images of this kiosk on the front in Fleetwood.

This is lovely. The clouds are looking ominous!
Les Auld: Thanks Pat appreciate the comment.
Colin and Wendy are becoming quite old hands at the photography lark. I photographed them back in may 2007, they did not know about Flickr then! Their fame is spreading!

Like the composition Les.
Les Auld: And their knowledge increasing, thanks for the comment Alistair.

The colour against the grey background gives an initial idea of selective colour engineering.
Like the composition as well.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, I did partially desaturate the image then brought back the colour of the kiosk using a mask. Seemed to work well.
I thought this was selective colouring at first Les, then noticed the grass on the left. that apart it is a great image particulalrly with all the mix of colours in the kiosk.
Les Auld: Almost selective colour Brian, a B&W layer at about 50% opacity then used a layer mask to bring back the colour of the kiosk.
You could of told us you were coming through Les,i photographed this kiosk a few months ago.Nice one Les.
Les Auld: Spur of the moment Michael, I was originally only going as far as St Annes. I think I remember seeing your picture. Thanks for the comment.
Like others I thought you'd used selective colour on this, but now I don't think you did. All the better. So British to find something so gaudy against a monotone backcloth.
Les Auld: Not selective colour Ian but a partially desaturated layer with a layer mask to bring the colour of the kiosk through, thanks for the comment.

A lovely scene, Les. The bright colours of the ice cream kiosk provide a "larger than life" setting against the sombre tones of the beach.
Les Auld: Thanks Alan, appreciate the comment.
I love this shot... great contrast between the brightly coloured kiosk and the grey background.
Les Auld: Glad you like it Mark, appreciate the comment.
