photoblog image Along the waterfront...

Along the waterfront...

.... were thousands of people who had come to welcome the clippers home and the Liver Birds look down with their customary elegance.

The crew of Western Australia stand to receive the gun salute and the accolade of the crowds in the sunlight as the rain dark skies move out towards Liverpool Bay.

The changes currently being made to the Liverpool waterfront are visible here, the building wrapped in white is the new Mersey Ferries terminal and the structure on the right is the Museum of Liverpool. It will look very different next year when these constructions are completed.

I agree--it's a nice mix of architectural styles, complemented well by the boats.
Les Auld: Thanks Larry classical architecture and modern yachts, a great mix.

What an impressive scene, Les. I like the varied architecture and the boats in front really add to it - scale wise. Nice.
Les Auld: Thanks for the comment Kay.
Hi Les! See you are still producing stunning work. I am looking forward to catching up. (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks for the compliment Rosalyn, appreciate it.

Great shot, the tele effect which strongly flattens the depth gives definitely a particolar touch to the imagine

Ciao
Les Auld: So right Paolo thanks for the comment.
Excellent shot Les, old and new and lots of intense colour. The dark sky really helps lift all the buildings and the foreground.
Les Auld: That dark sky had been hurling heavy rain at me ten minutes before, thanks for the comment Brian.

I spent some time looking at this picture - so much to see. A lot of old and new side by side.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, there is quite a bit in it.
