31558 at Tysley

Further south from yesterday's image is Tysely depot and locomotive works in Birmingham, where the Brush Type 2 Diesel locomotive 31558, ex D5836, originally built in the early 1960s is standing in the yard in it's faded Civil Engineers livery of Yellow and Grey. This was also known as the "Dutch Livery" as it was similar to that used in Holland.

I'm not usually a fan of train shots, but I really like these faded diesel engines from the past. They look so sad, yet proud.

I like the look of decay to this; just like our passenger trains smile It that boits of old steam loco behind?
Les Auld: There are quite few bits of steam at Tysley as well, thanks for the comment Alan.

I've never been to Tyesley Les and strangely enough I was reading of its history two nights ago. Great picture, and I love the ageing presentation.
Les Auld: It is an interesting place and they do some good work there Brian, thanks for the comment.
