The World

The World is a ship that carries it's luxury vacation residences to the four corners of the earth, seeking out the high life and the splendour of our world. It is seen here in the opulent surroundings of Brocklebank Dock, Liverpool. Yesterday's image shows the other side of the dock. The small blue tender is a refueling barge.

Looks like a floating Benidorm hoteltongue The thought of being trapped on that for a couple of weeks fills me with horror!
Les Auld: People actually spend much longer on board this ship Bill, a few days would do me though as long as I had my camera that is.
This has been featured in the newspapers recently Les. I've never fancied a cruise but I guess on a ship like this it would be very luxurious.
Les Auld: I suppose it would be quite luxurious given the prices they charge, thanks for the comment Brian.

As James Bond once said "The Wold is not enough"! It looks a bit of a tight fit in the dock.

We've just had in the Queen Mary 2, the Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Victoria altogther; the only time they will do this as QE2 is off to Dubai at the end of the year as a floating hotel.

I'm with Bill on this; not my sort of holiday.
Les Auld: Would have loved to see the three queens together, QE" will be here later in the year and QV is supposed to be visiting next year and Mersey Ferries are putting together special cruises when they are here.

Thanks for the comment Alan.
