After a bit of experimentation....

... in Photoshop with textures and filters I came up with this variation on one of my favourite subjects. The locomotive is a British Rail Clas 4MT tank engine at Swanage.

You can't beat a bit of experimentation Les. This has come out as a superb sketch.
Les Auld: Thanks Bill, achieved the aim then!

This has a lovely feel of a brass rubbing. Nicely edited. Les.

You have done an invert, graqueline filter and turned it to b&w - my guess. Every now and then that invert option tickles me. Great result.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, find edges played a part but can't remember all the steps in detail.

Les Auld: I do like this class of engine, there are a few in preservation, thanks for the comment Brian.
