Another man with a shovel

Down the road from the GCR is the Foxfield Railway, a small industrial Heritage line that has a number of small but powerful locomotives on it. Like any other railway the engines have to be fed, here they do it with shovel and brawn at the end of the station platform.  Here Harwarden, a compact but powerful 0-4-0 saddle tank is coaled from a wagon on an adjacent track by the fireman.

I do not know if it is because of the smoke or your conversion efforts, but the toned down look fits this working scene.

Great picture. I like it when you get around the trains smile
Les Auld: It was the smoke Louis, it went everywhere. Thanks for the comment.
This is a superb out of age capture. Great atmosphere here! Well done.
Les Auld: Thanks Richard, appreciate the comment.
Even better than yestersday's Les - there are those that work and those that watch you work!

Also brought back a childhood memory of having to shovel the coal into a pile after the coalman had emptied the sacks down the manhole into the cellar. It was a dirty business ;o)
Les Auld: But someones got to do it Mike, thanks for the comment.
A good shot to follow yesterday's Les with plenty of atmosphere. We called in here a couple of years ago but didn't take a ride. It's on things to do list.
Les Auld: Thanks Brian, this is one of my favourite little railways.
Oh my Les ... this is even better than yesterday's. richard
Les Auld: Thanks Richard, glad you like it.
