photoblog image The Robot at the Dock

The Robot at the Dock

At one event at the Albert Dock this seven foot robot was entertaining the crowds, he did a great rendition of "My Way" and tried to dance, a little stiffly it must be admited though. He rode around the dock on the back of a scooter driven by his minder, in sunglasses and hat ( could have easily passed for one of the Blues Brothers).

I saw this, or one of these, at Romsey Show last year, and just could not get a shot through the crowds. Great photograph. (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks Roz, he does put on a great show and draws the crowds. Appreciate the comment.
Some good stuff down at the docks, great rendering Les.
Les Auld: And some strange sights Alistair, thanks for the comment.
Did he change into a Citroen and drive home ;o) Good tight shot Les ;o)
Les Auld: No but I changed in a Citroen Picasso and then drove home, thanks for the comment Mike.

It's a good pic Les, but I guess it needs something to indicate the scale.
Les Auld: Could be right Ian, I was trying to disguise the crowd behind him, thanks for the comment.

This would have been fun to see, Les. Great picture of a robot...I'm sure there are children (and adults) who would love a copy.
Les Auld: Thanks Kay, appreciate the comment.
Blackdog has already cracked the joke I was going to type so I'll just say good shot Les and plenty of detail throughout.
Les Auld: Thanks Brian, I suppose he is very Citroenesque.
It all happens up there Les! Great shot of quite a sight!
Les Auld: Thanks Bill, I'm looking forward to this years events for something new.

Wow, great shot. this guy was in Dublin last year at an event my employers sponsor. He's like a transformer character.
Les Auld: Thanks for the comment Dave, appreciate it.
